Mexico with family
When considering where to go in Mexico with family, I often think of memories of when my parents came here as children. We would travel across the border trying to get from one border to another in the hope of finding a kind-hearted soul who would take us in. Mexico is not all about the beautiful beaches and famous tourist attractions that entice us today. The truth is that Mexico has much more to offer than just these things.
Mexico, officially the United Mexican States, is a fascinating country in the southwestern part of North America. It is highly bordered on the north by the United States; on the west and south by the Pacific Ocean; in the southeast by Guatemala, Belize, and the Caribbean Sea; and to the east by the Gulf of Mexico. Mexico is an extremely rich country with a wide variety of natural resources and wildlife. It is also rich in history and culture. Mexico boasts five national parks and more than 200 different archaeological sites that are both fascinating and informative.
If you are looking for a way to spend your vacation that is exciting and adventurous, then perhaps a visit to Chichen Itza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located in Chihuahuan National Park, is the right choice for you and your family. Chichen Itza is the largest archeological site in the Western Hemisphere. The fascinating archeological sites include the older pre-tec pyramid, ceremonial ruins, ceremonial centers, ballrooms, mummification pits, as well as Mayan ruins. You will be astounded by many of the ancient Aztec structures you will see. There are many other archeological sites in this park as well, such as Tulum, Xochicalco, and much more.
Chichen Itza is a great place for the whole family, as it offers so much to do. If you enjoy hiking, horseback riding, swimming, snorkeling, or fishing, then this is the perfect getaway. You can even do some yoga at one of the beautiful pools of Chichen Itza.
If you are interested in the arts, then the downtown of Chichen Itza is well worth a visit. Here you will find museums, theaters, and even the Museum of Ancient Things. If you are looking for a unique way to spend your vacation, then this could be it. The museum features over two hundred ancient Mayan artifacts, as well as many others. In addition to all of the things to do and see, the Museum of Ancient Things has a very interactive planetarium where you can view many of the creatures found on the planet.
Chichen Itza is also famous for its lively nightlife. Many of the hotels and restaurants offer live entertainment and dancing. This means that your entire family will have an opportunity to enjoy itself while enjoying Mexico’s nightlife. Chichen Itza also offers many places for outdoor eating and fun. Whether you are looking for a romantic place to go on a vacation, or a fun place for your entire family to enjoy, Chichen Itza can offer you everything you want.
